In 1990, Mitchell, McNutt and Sams merged with Threadgill, Smith, Sanders & Jolly of Columbus
(founded in 1949). The firm’s offices are located in the historic downtown area in four classic townhouses. The oldest was built in 1835 and the newest was constructed to
match existing buildings.
Like their colleagues from our other offices, the attorneys in Columbus readily give back to their community with their daily involvement in civic and cultural affairs, including work with Habitat for Humanity, the United Way, and other civic and charity organizations and churches. They have served for years encouraging economic and community development through active membership in the Chamber of Commerce and the Columbus-Lowndes Economic Development Link.
Historic Columbus is in the center of Lowndes County and is the county seat. The firm acts as counsel to Four County Electric Power Association, The City of Columbus, East Lowndes Water Association, The Columbus Housing Authority, Golden Triangle Waste Services, and numerous other individual, business and industrial clients throughout the region.
