John McCann is an attorney and Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience managing global litigation for public and private companies, advising management, and mitigating risk. Prior to joining Mitchell McNutt, John was the chief in-house litigation counsel for a global medical device company where he oversaw the successful resolution of U.S. multi-district litigation (MDL) involving thousands of product liability claims alleging damages related to the implantation and use of medical devices; successfully managed the defense of a product liability class-action in Canada and negotiated a favorable settlement; supervised the defense of a class action (GLO) in the U.K. involving tort claims in England and Wales, secured the dismissal of all claims and obtained reimbursement of defense fees; and led the company's efforts to protect its intellectual property through non-compete and non-solicitation efforts throughout the U.S. John began his legal career in private practice in Memphis, TN where he represented businesses in a variety of litigation, including product liability defense, non-compete/non-solicitation enforcement, and commercial litigation.
